On The Rocks Rabbitry
I chose to focus on tricolors and chinchillas in rexes before I read enough. : ) I just love the way these varieties look and the challenge that they bring. I also enjoy mapping the genetics of my lines. My tri line does tend to have quite a few dilutes show up. This is mostly due to the main herd doe carrying dilute and a past buck actually being a broken blue. (You can read more about the genetics of one of their litters on the genetics page.)
My chinchilla rex line actually began with a standard chin and mini broken chin cross. Chins are not very common on the show table in this area. I hope that in the future the quality of chinchilla rex improves and we begin to see more chins at shows. I am working hard towards that goal. It will be a few more generations before I have chins that can be registered but hopefully by then I’ll be sending in for a GC certificate as well.
